French doors are also counted as a window.
In this case, 1 window for each door.
Size typically does not matter. Even though the middle section of this Bay window is twice the size of the shouldering windows, this set would still count as 3 windows total.
Transoms ( the 6" window above a regular window) are NOT counted. In this Bay window, you would still count this set a 3 windows
3 normal windows that are side-by-side still count as 3 windows. Again, the transoms
(smaller windows directly above) are included and counted as "part" of the normal window.
MOST homes will have around 10 windows per 1000 square feet of HEATED space... meaning without the basement.
If you have 3200 square feet, you probably have 32 windows... plus whatever you may have in the basement.
Typically, the only exceptions to our "1 size fits all" pricing policy would be unusual or exceptionally large windows... such as the example to the left.
If you have unusal or very large windows, please feel free to call our office. If we are unable to help you over the phone, we will be happy to send someone to your home to do an actual count.
